Bright/Black/White Dry Brush | Nail Art

Hey you! I got some easy nail art to show you today. Just drybrush and a simple geometric design. Hit the jump for more pretty pictures!

Polishes used for this manicure:
  • China Glaze - Sun Upon My Skin
  • China Glaze - Peachy Keen
  • China Glaze - Liquid Leather
  • Gosh - Bubble Gum
  • Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
  • Loose silver glitter
This nail art was so much brighter in real life, almost neon. My camera did a pretty good job picking up the colours, but some of the brightness is lost.

Sorry for the short post. I promise I have more exciting things coming up very soon! <3

Colourful Caged Nails | Nail Art

Hi everyone! How are you? Today I have some nail art to show you. It is not really wintery, not really springy, it is just a nice geometric nail art with some colours thrown in!

A while ago I saw this amazing nail art done by @purplenailbox on Instagram and I fell in love. Frances' version is a lot better than mine, but I was in a hurry and I could not perfect them the way I wanted too. So I will probably do them over in a few weeks or months.

Polishes used for this manicure:
  • Sinful Colors - Snow me white
  • China Glaze - First Mate
  • China Glaze - Aquadelic
  • Kiko - 343
  • Essence - Ultimate Pink
  • Essence - Passion for Fashion
  • Gosh - Bubble Gum
I painted the stripes using a regular striping brush.

I hope you like it! Please let me know in the comments what you would like to see on my blog. I read every comment so do not hesitate! ;-) <3

WingDustCollections - Snakeskin Shoes

Hi there! Today I have another gorgeous WingDustCollections nail polish to show you: Snakeskin Shoes.
This one is definately my favourite, there is so much going on in such a small bottle! So without further ado, here are the pictures:

Snakeskin Shoes is a blurple jelly base packed with fuchsia flitters, purple and blue squares, and different sizes of  turquoise and fuchsia holographic hexes. I layered two coats of Snakeskin Shoes over China Glaze First Mate.

In the pictures Snakeskin Shoes looks quite dark, but in person it is a real stunner, I was blown away by its beauty and depth! I do recommend layering it over a blue, purple or blurple polish to bring out the depth even more. I first swatched it with three coats on its own, and it looked great, but my camera made it look kind of flat. I decided to layer it, and BOOM: awesome.

This is my favourite picture: you can see the different types of glitter and the depth of the polish. Ah, simply gorgeous!

Here you can see a bit of the holographic glitters hidden in this polish. It looks SO much better in real life, and I really couldn't do it justice. (wehh)

You can buy WingDustCollections polishes on Etsy and on Llarowe! If you haven't already: go and check out WingDustCollection's Facebookpage to stay up-to-date on restocks and new releases!

Forever Polished - Moon Shine

Hello everyone! Another post already! Today I will be showing you another swatch of a polish by Forever Polished. This time it is Moon Shine and I already used this polish a couple of weeks ago for my Candy Cane manicure.

Moon Shine consists of silver holographic powder, small glitter, hexagon glitter and moon shaped glitter. On her Etsy Ashley says: "This shine is crazy!!! Need to try for yourself." It is true, the shine is out of this world!!

I only used one coat of Moon Shine over China Glaze First Mate. Just one! The glitter pay-off is crazyyy!
Application was surprisingly easy, it practically glided on like butter. And it actually dried really fast too! I finished with two coats of Essence Top Sealer, to seal everything in.

For my ringfinger I used silver holographic hexagon glitter in #1 from Born Pretty Store. I picked up the glitters one by one and put them on my nail. I used the same technique as Chelsea from Get Nailed.

And finally a close-up of my nail. Here you can clearly see the holographic-goodness and the different types of glitter.

You can find Forever Polished here and on Facebook, polishes are $8 for 15ml. Make sure to use this special discount code LoveLifeLacquer to get 20% off!

Forever Polished - Who Is That Lady?

Hi everyone! Today, I want to introduce you to Forever Polished. This indie polish brand was formerly known as Ashley's Polish. I have one swatch for you today, yes just one! But I'll be posting four more swatches over the next four weeks, so you will really get to know Ashley and Forever Polished.
(and PSST.. check out the end of this post for a coupon code!)

Today I will show you Who Is That Lady*?

First up is a close-up of Who Is That Lady. As you can see, this polish has a LOT of small round pink glitter, diamond shaped gold glitter and black bar glitter.

I layered two normal coats over China Glaze Dress Me Up, but I think you can reach full opacity with three layers! Application can be a little bit hard when you are not used to thicker glitter polishes, but it is workable. 15 ml, no weird scent, good drytime. That is a YES for me!

Forever Polished lacquers can be found in their shop and they sell for $8 per bottle. And you can also keep up with the brand on Facebook.

Ashley was so kind to create a coupon code: LoveLifeLacquer which gives you a whopping 20% off!

*Polish was sent to me for my honest review.

Striped Tip

Here's what I got on my nails today, striped tips!
I really wanted to paint my nails, but wasn't sure what exactly to do, so I came up with this simple design. I really love the colour combination, not quite "fall-appropriate" but hey!

For this manicure I painted on Kiko - 328 as a base colour. I used Catrice - It's All I Can Blue, Catrice - Innocent Toxin, China Glaze - Aquadelic and Nail Art Brushes from Born Pretty Store to create the stripes on my tips. I finished off with Essence - Top Sealer.

Oh, by the way! You can also find my designs here and here!

Sugar Spun Nails

Lately, everybody seems to do sugar spun nails, so I had to use this technique too!

The sugar spun technique is quite messy and a bit boring, as you have to wait some time for your nail polish to get tacky. You can watch this tutorial and give it a try yourself!

Yes, I do realize that my lines are very thin, but I like it that way! ^^

This is what I used for this manicure:
Essence - Toffee to go
Kiko - 364
China Glaze - Dress me up
NO topcoat!

Have you ever tried the sugar spun technique?

Accent Nail

Here's a simple manicure with a solid colour and a *BOOM* accent nail!

The solid colour is Exotic Encounters from the China Glaze On Safari collection. My friend Emily gave this to me - yay happy dance, love you love you love you Emily! -, it is such a beautiful colour!

Here is (kind of) a close up of the accent nail:

For the *BOOM* accent nail I used steel ball, gold square studs, round black studs, round silver studs, round gold studs, 2 mm rhinestones, 3 mm rhinestones and elliptic rhinestones. I guess that's all... HA!

Team GB!

So as you all know, the London 2012 Olympics started last night! I personally think it is a great excuse to paint my nails!

This manicure is inspired by the Great Britain WAG London 2012 Leotards, there is a blue one and a red one. You are probably wondering why the hell I chose this? Well, I did acrobatic gymnastics for about 11 years and it still fascinates me, so YEAH LEOTARD!

Here is a line-up of the polishes I used for this manicure:
  • Bourjois - Corail Magique
  • Bourjois - Bleu Water
  • Catrice - Blue Cara Ciao
  • China Glaze - First Mate
  • Only You - White French
  • 2B - 76 (red)
  • Essence - Protecting Base Coat
  • Essence - Top Sealer
  • Born Pretty Store - Nail art brushes
Oh yeah, by the way, WAG means Women Artistic Gymnastics!

Whoops!

First of all: oops, sorry for not posting in AGES!
And also for the dark picture!
And also for the lack of creativity! Oh, god!

For this manicure I used China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy (lovelovelove), NYC City Blackout and some elliptic rhinestones from Born Pretty Store. For the disco accent nail I used this silver glitter also from Born Pretty Store.

What is your all-time favourite neon?

Cubescubescubes

So here's a design inspired by Mr. Candice's manicure! I think I could make the lines a bit more crisp, but still love it, ahhh. And oh yeah, I also did a gradient as a base! That makes me love it even more, hmmm.

Here's what I used:
  • Essence Protecting Base Coat
  • China Glaze Aquadelic
  • Essence Innocent Toxin
  • NYC City Blackout
  • Only You White French
  • Essence Top Sealer

I also used nail art brushes: these are the brushes I used for the gradient, and these are the ones I used for the cubes.

Simply Aquadelic

Here's a simple design I did the other day. It's really easy to do and I love how it turned out!
I think it gives the illusion of longer and pointier nails. But then again, it also can be my imagination... :-D

I used China Glaze - Aquadelic as a basecolour, Only You - White French for the stripes and a nail art brush which I got from Born Pretty Store.

What do you think of simple designs?

Another gradient!

Here is another gradient I did. The pink is actually much brighter in real life, but I wasn't able to capture it, bleh. In some pictures it even looked nude, haha :-D

This is what I used:
China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy
Essence - Sundancer
Essence - Protecting Base Coat
Essence - Top Sealer

Do you like gradient nails? Did you try it and how did they turn out?
