Born Pretty Store Mermaid Glitter | Swatches & Review

Mermaid glitter

Hollaaaaa guys!

A while ago I received a goooorgeous glitter from Born Pretty Store and I swatched it over a similar colour and I was like 'ok, this looks fine, but how does it look over white?' So, I painted my nails white, burnished the glitter and ta da, mermaid nails. And then I knew I had to put it over black because I was convinced it would make some magic. And it does!! IT DOES SO HARD!! It is a magical mermaid glitter which transforms completely depending on what colour you put beneath it. It is magic, I tell you. See for yourself! <3

My First Stamping Decal | Nail Art

Hey guys! Today I will be showing you the result of my first ever stamping decal, yay! Yeah, not so yay as it failed completely. I think I might need some more practice :-D. But hey, I tried! And it's probably because I did something wrong and not because of the stamper or the plate.

Teeny Tiny Gold studs + Stamping | Nail Art & Review

Hi guys! Today I will be writing about a new-to-me webshop: Lady Queen. Lady Queen is an online shop that sells nail art supplies, make up, hair decoration... A while ago I was contacted by Lady Queen to review some of their products. I checked out their website and I saw they have these mini studs which remind me of Japanese nail art. YAAAAAS. I heart tiny studs *emoji with hearts in eyes*. And I thought, why not combine it with a soft base colour, some flakies and stamping? <3

Born Pretty Store Studs | Review & Nail Art

Hi guys! Today I have this simple nail look to show you. I used some OPI shades from the new Hawaii collection and Born Pretty Store studs. I have no idea what this nail art is, like seriously nope. I was swatching Do You Take Lei Away and I wanted to see if Aloha from OPI looked good over it. And I guess it does. It reminds me of something Chinese, I don't know why. Anyway, let's move on to some pictures! <3

Girls and Their Pearls | Review & Nail Art

Hey everybody! Some nail art today. A graphic print with some girly pearls, because why not? Find out what I used after the jump! <3

Look at those peaaaarls. So pretty! Born Pretty Store was so kind to send me these. They come in a nail art wheel and have 3 different sizes: 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm, although I think they are slighty larger. I do not know exactly how many pearls you get, however I do know it is a lot for just $4,64.

Just like other studs and stones you stick them on your nail using nail glue or clear nail polish. Easy as that! I think these pearls would be great to do some bridal designs, as they are so elegant.

Products used for this manicure:
  • Rimmel - Sky High
  • White acrylic paint
  • Born Pretty Store - Striper brush
  • Born Pretty Store - Pearls (make sure to use my coupon code THL91 to get 10% off of your order)
For the graphic pattern I have one advice: wing it! It will look good, eventually. :D

Thanks for reading! <3

Morse Code, anyone? | Review & Nail Art

Hi hi hi! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty relaxing, besides the regular school work. A few days ago I saw this beautiful gradient by Marinelp91 on Instagram and I just had to try it. So, if you want to see more pictures of my attempt, then click the jump! :-)

Polishes and materials used for this manicure:
  • Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
  • China Glaze - Sun Upon My Skin
  • China Glaze - At Vase Value
  • Bourjois - Bleu Water
  • White acrylic paint
  • Born Pretty Store - Nail art brush

The nail art brush I used was kindly sent to me by Born Pretty Store. It is a fine brush, however a bit too big to paint really detailed things. I really needed to get used to is, as I normally work with 3-hair-brushes :-D. By the time I had to paint my ring finger, it already went a lot better as you can see. Overall, I really like this brush for simple designs! The brush sells for $5.98, which is a great price for the quality!

I was wondering: is anyone tired of seeing gradients? Personally, I find them perfect to add something special to your manicure and they are super easy to do. What do you think?

Don't forget to use my coupon code THL91 to get 10% off of your order at Born Pretty Store!

Classy Black Nails + Born Pretty Store Studs | Review & Nail art

HIIIII everyone! Today I have a simple, yet classy manicure to show you. Hit the jump for more details on the studs and some pretty pictures!

For this nail art, I first applied 2 coats of a black polish and 1 layer of top coat and let it dry. Then I picked up one of the studs, dabbed it in some clear polish or top coat and placed it on my nail. And that is it! I did not apply a new layer of top coat, as it might drown the studs and I do not really like the look of it. And because this manicure did not need to last me a week, more like 2 hours. :-D

Materials used for this manicure:
Yup, it is that simple. :-D

The studs come in a little wheel which holds +/- 400 pieces. The sizes vary from 1.5mm and 5mm, I used the 1.5mm, 3mm and 4mm ones, as my nails were to curved to use the 5mm studs. I like that you have a great variety of sizes and that you have them in both silver and gold. And studs are an easy way to add something extra to your nails!

When you order something on Born Pretty Store, do not forget to use my coupon code THL91. This way you can get 10% off of your order, whee!

Until next time, guys! <3

Tweed Nails + Born Pretty Store Pearl | Review & Nail Art

Hey guys! Only a few days until Valentine's Day. So I thought I would use some pinks and muted purples for the lovey dovey days! I have been dyyyyying to do tweed nails. On Instagram, I saw sooo many girls (and boys?) creating tweed nail art and it intrigued me. Today, I will show you my first take on tweed nails!

Tweed nails are so easy to do. I used 4 different polishes and I think that gives the best effect. First, I applied 2 coats of my base colour which is the second lightest shade. With a slightly darker shade, I painted on small vertical and horizontal lines, making sure they crossed. Then, I did the same with my darkest colour and repeated with white. I let it dry for a couple of minutes and applied a fast-drying top coat. Et voilà, you are done!

The pretty pearl stud on my ring finger is from Born Pretty Store. You can get them here. I got the 4mm ones and they fit my nail perfectly.

Materials used for this manicure:
  • OPI - Don't Bossa Nova Me Around
  • Catrice - Karl Says Très Chic
  • Catrice - Put Lavender On Agenda
  • Catrice - Goldfinger
  • Essie - Not Just A Pretty Face
  • Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
  • Born Pretty Store - Pearl studs

Have you tried out tweed nails yet? I will be doing them again very soon. They are so easy and quick to do, but look like they took you hours to do. :-D Do not forget to use my code THL91 to get 10% off of your order on Born Pretty Store! <3

Vibrant Gradient + Born Pretty Store Triangle Studs | Review & Nail Art

Hi everyone! I know, I know, it is winter and it is cold and grey. However, I will be showing you a vibrant gradient today. To brighten up those gloomy days and because I like my colours to stand out ;-). I used some beautiful triangle studs I got from Born Pretty Store, so make sure to keep reading!

For this design, I was inspired by Flickanail on Instagram. She creates the cutest designs and I am in love with each and every one of them!

The cute gold triangle studs were sent to me by Born Pretty Store, an online store specialized in nail art! The studs are also available in silver, which look great too! You can easily apply the studs onto your nail polish using a top coat or nail glue. They are also great to pimp a regular gel polish manicure.
The studs measure 3 to 5 mm and you get 20 pieces for $3.28. A nice deal!

Products used for this manicure:
  • China Glaze - Sun Upon My Skin
  • China Glaze - One Track Mind
  • Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
  • Born Pretty Store - Triangle studs
In March I will be painting nails at Clouds of Fashion, a boutique (soon ;-)) located in the Nationalestraat in Antwerp. And this nail art design can be painted on YOUR nails! I will post more info about that very soon. :-)

Born Pretty Store was so kind to give me a coupon code for my readers. With the code THL91 you can get 10% off of your order!

How do you like this vibrant manicure? I personally love this kind of designs. Simple but effective!

Watercolour Nails + Born Pretty Store Crystals | Review & Nail Art

Hey there! I have been wanting to do watercolour nails for sooooo long. So here I am, with a watercolour nail art design decorated with pretty holo silver rhinestones I received from Born Pretty Store. To me, this manicure is kind of Barbie-ish, but I have to admit: I kind of like it though. Next time I will probably use some lighter colours, to make it more classy. But for now, this will do!

For those who do not know how to do watercolour nails, I used this tutorial by ChrissyAi. It is pretty straightforward and once you get the hang of it, it is a breeze and fun to do!

The rhinestones on my index and ring finger are from Born Pretty Store. In the wheel you get 4 different sizes and approximately 200 pieces for $4.47. For me, the largest size (5 mm) is a little bit too big as my nails, and especially my ring finger, are very curved. The other sizes fit perfectly!

Same as other rhinestones or studs, you can easily apply them on your nails using nail polish or nail glue.

Products used for this manicure:
Please note that I am not quite sure about what colours I used.. WOOPS, I am soooorry! :-D

Have you tried watercolour nails? I would love to see them! And do you like doing them? I feel like it is lazy nail art, and I looove lazy nail art hahaha. :-D

If you want to buy these gorgeous rhinestones yourself, make sure to use my coupon code THL91 to get 10% off of your order! <3
