Purjoi Nail Studio - Spring Break, Tip Toe & Calm Water | Swatch & Review

Hello you! If you read my blog frequently you must have noticed that I have ventured into the wonderful world of gel polish. Every brand I reviewed was a 3 step system. This means that you need a base coat, your colour and a top coat. Well, Purjoi Nail Studio is different. If you want to know what is so special about this gel polish brand, then please keep reading! <3

Purjoi Nail Studio is a 3-free 1 step gel! This means no base or top coat and will save you a lot of time. It also has a thicker formula which ensures an easy and even application. Because of that thicker formula, it is also great for nail art.

Normally, when applying gel polish, it is important to have a thin first layer. With Purjoi Nail Studio that doesn't really matter. I find it applied better when I used a thicker first coat, and it makes the application quicker, too! There are no curing problems whatsoever when applying thicker layers.

I did have some trouble removing these bad boys. At first, I thought it might be because my first layer was too thin, so I applied a thicker first coat like Manic Talons recommends. However, no success. I am convinced these gel polishes will be easier to remove when you wore them for two weeks, not for 20 minutes.

Spring Break is a green leaning teal cream. My pictures show it more like a teal, but it is quite green. Not sure what my camera was thinking at this point. This was 2 coats.

Tip Toe is a shimmery purple. This is a nice year-round colour, in my opinion. Not too in your face for Winter and not too boring for Summer. It was a little on the sheerer side, so I applied 3 coats for full opacity.

Calm Water is a blue cream. It's a teeny tiny bit more teal in real life. Seriously, I have no idea why, but my camera really has some issues picking up teal colours. Shown here is 3 coats, but you could definitely get away with 2.

Overall, I think Purjoi Nail Studio is a good option for those of you who do not have a lot of time to do their nails. It's quick and easy and your nails will have a glossy finish up to 2+ weeks.

I still have one Purjoi gel polish to show you, I will post that one next week. And I will also create some easy nail art!

Purjoi Nail Studio sells for $15.99. If you are a licensed professional you will be able to take advantage of the special pro pricing and promotions!

  3. I don't know this brand, but a shine for 2 weeks sounds great. Do you have to use a UV light?
