Hey guys! Just a little break from the 12 Days of Christmas challenge today. If you are rather new to my blog and do not know what I am talking about, then make sure to check out my designs I created the past two weeks.
For today I have some swatches to show you. And not just swatches of regular SmoothNails gel polish, oh no. These are December E X C L U S I V E S. X-Mas (68005). X-Mas is a red gelly base filled with a true Christmas red glitter. So gorgeous, so lush, so pretty. Pink Gellac Ultimate Red is quite similar, but they are definitely not the same. X-Mas is a slightly bigger glitter and it is a deeper shade of red. Because of the bigger glitter, it is a bit tricky to apply. Try to paint with as few strokes a possible, otherwise you will drag the glitter to the tip of your nail. Not a good look! :-D Good news is, it is gel polish, which means you can go in as much as you want and get the glitter spread evenly before you cure. This is 4 thin coats.
Gold Party (68089). Gold Party is a gold glitter topper which means it is a clear base and can be applied over other colours. I paired it with SmoothNails Forever Be.. I will post swatches of that gorgeous shade next week or so. Application-wise, this polish was great actually. Most glitter toppers tend to drag the glitter, this one does not, or not as much. It is very workable and again, you can play around with it before you decide to cure it. This is 1 normal coat over a base colour.
So yeah, definitely musthaves! And did you see how looooong my nails are? Holy cow. I think I should trim them a bit because they are getting in my way haha. Oh well, good thing is: more space for pretty gel polishes ;-). <3
