Minty Feathers | Nail Art

Hey you! Today's post will be short and sweet. A soft and Spring-y look perfect for everyday, even though Spring is still a month away. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you already know I had a little accident. The nail on my index finger snapped, really bad. So I filed all my nails :-(. Oh well, a fresh start!

Hit the jump for the details! :-)

Polishes used for this manicure:
  • Essence - That's What I Mint!
  • Essence - Bird of Paradise
And that is all really, haha :D Told you it would be short and sweet!

I will be back soon with some real nail art ;-). Thanks for reading! <3

The Breaking Bad Collection: Blowfish

Hiyaa! Only 3 more Breaking Bad polishes to go.. Today I will be showing Blowfish.

Blowfish is a soft minty green polish with subtle colour shifting flakes from blue to pink and a subtle scattered holo, which is quite hard to capture. And yes, my camera failed. Again. I used 2 normal coats on it's own without topcoat, though I think 3 thin coats would be better.

Formula is exactly the same as all other Cadillacquer polishes: flawless and aaaawesome.

You can get your own Cadillacquer polish here. Cadillacquer also has a Facebookpage, so make sure to hit like if you want to stay up-to-date!

Cadillacquer Restless

Yesterday, I showed you some bottle shots of Cadillacquer's new collection Such Is Life, and today I will be showing you the first polish out of four: Restless.

This is how Madeleine describes this beauty: "Restless has a light turquoise aqua base with fine holo glitter, different sized brown glitter, small dark fuchsia red and different sized matte turquoise glitter."
As I mentioned before: there is a lot going on in this polish!

Shown above is three coats of Restless on its own. You could get away with two slightly thicker layers, but I decided to play it safe and painted on a thirth. I did need two layers of top coat to smooth everything out.

The consistency of this lacquer is not too thick nor too thin. It holds the glitter perfectly and it applies very easy and smoothly.

In this close-up you can see there is, like I said, a lot going on in this little polish. Turquoise, brown, fuchsia-red, holo.. You name it!

You can buy your own gorgeous Cadillacquer polish on Etsy, they are $12 for 15ml. They also have a Facebookpage, so make sure to like it to stay up to date!

Do you own any Cadillacquer polishes? If so, let me know in the comments below and send some pictures!

Cadillacquer 'Such is Life'-collection

Cadillacquer is fairly new to the indie polish world, but oh boy, I fell in love the moment I saw some of Madeleine's creations. She creates soft, feminine shades packed with awesome glitter combinations. Oh btw, this handmade polish is made in Switzerland!
So do you like pastels? Soft shades? Super awesome glitter combo's? Yes, yes and yes? Then you will absolutely love her new collection: 'Such is Life'!

First row from left to right: Live Free, Tell It To The Frogs, Bring On The Night, Say The Word
Middle: Where The Wild Things Are
Second row from left to right: Once More, No Place Like Home, Life's Too Short,  Restless

Pastels: check. Soft shades: check. Super awesome glitter combo's: double check!! The lacquers are all very wearable for any occasion. Madeleine was so kind to send me four of her new polishes. Today you will get a preview of each one, and four Sundays in a row (starting tomorrow) I will be posting pictures and swatches of each polish. Enough of that, let's move on to some bottle shots!

Can I just say that I loooove this kind of bottles?

Here we have No Place Like Home. It's a soft grey-ish, lilac-ish pastel polish infused with gorgeous silver and pink flecks. I also had pastel coloured hex glitters, which makes it all tie together.

Next up is Restless. Some of you might know that I love me some minty polishes! There is a lot going on in this polish, but I'll try my best to describe it. It is a mint base with big turquoise hexes, normal-sized turquoise and burgundy hexes and very small fuchsia, turquoise, burgundy and silver holographic glitter. PHEW.

Let's move on to Where The Wild Things Are. This is a blue-ish grey base with a golden shimmer in it. It has various sizes of grey, white and iridescent glitters and some iridescent shreds.

The last one: Bring On The Night is a dark jelly base with a burgundy-ish shimmer in it. It has big and small turquoise square glitter. All I can say is that it is glittery, very glittery.

So these are the polishes you will see the next four weeks. I hope you like them, I surely do!

Cadillacquer nail polishes can be bought on Etsy. They are 15 ml and $12 each. Also, make sure to visit and like their Facebookpage!

Which one would you like to see first? Let me know in the comments!

Something special... 1-year Blogiversary!

Hi guys! Today is my 1-year Blogiversary! Yay! Woohoo! Fireworks! Party! I wanted to do something special, but I wasn't quite sure what, so I asked Stephanie from WingDustCollections for some ideas. She told me I could ask a guest blogger. AWE-SOME idea! And I knew the perfect man (woman actually) for the job: Alexis from XOXO Alexis Leigh! Yay! Woohoo! Fireworks! Party! ENOUGH! Without further ado, here is her guest post:

Hi everyone, my name is Alexis! I'm so excited to be doing a guest post for Natasja's blogiversary! I love her blog (she's actually my Blogger of the Month this month!) so I was super excited to prepare something for all of you and her in honor of this special blogging milestone! So thank you guys for having me and thank you Nastaja for inviting me to guest post for you, I hope you all like the nail art I did :)

So before I show you guys the nail art I did, there's a little bit of a story behind it. I first met Natasja a few weeks ago on twitter then through my BotM submission form when she submitted her blog. I ended up choosing her blog for my Blogger of the Month and we began talking. She told me about this funny meme called cup of care.

I thought it was hilarious and obviously it stuck in my brain because when I was brainstorming nail art ideas I couldn't get the cup of care image out of my head! I told Nastaja I had an idea that would be really funny if it worked out correctly and I'm so happy it did because I kind of love it :)

I had to mix a few different colors with white because surprisingly I don't have many pastels! I used Floss Gloss - Glowstar as a base on my index finger and Essie - To Buy or Not to Buy as a base on my thumb. The other base colors were mixed with white to get pastel shades. I used a plain black creme for the outlines and white acrylic paint to fill it in.

My thumb is definitely my favorite of the designs... the cup looks so tiny and cute! haha! Even though this design is really simple it took forever to create those thin lines and unfortunately my camera picked up all the mistakes! Ah well, I promise it looked better in person and from a little farther away :P

Thank you guys again SO much for having me and thank you Natasja for asking me to guest post, it was an honor!!!!! <3 :D

Minty Gold

I love love LOVE mintgreen, especially with gold!
These are actually my best crosses I ever did, seriously. For some reason I always ended up taking them off because I thought they were U-G-L-Y.

Until now!

Here's what I used:
Essence - Did someone say Nude?
Catrice - Golddigger
NYC - City Blackout

Do you like mintgreen and gold? OFCOURS YOU DO!

Minty Leopard

Here's one of my first attempts on leopard nails and my first attempt on framing. OK, the framing wasn't so hard to do, because I just had to put on the glitters one by one.

I really love how this turned out. My original plan was to put roses on my pinky and my thumb, but the pink just didn't match the mint and the nude. But : *prouuuud*

The mint is Hema 82, the nude is from Essence Nude Glam - 05 Toffee to go. These two colours go so well together! For the leopard print I used Hema 82 and also Catrice - Jade is not my name. The black is NYC - 119 City Blackout and as a topcoat I used Essence Studio Nails - top sealer.
The glitters are from Born Pretty Store. I recently did a review on them, you can find this here.

I looooooove nude! Who's with me, girls?
