essie Summer 2016 | Swatch & Review
Hi guys! Summer is here, or should be here. In Belgium, Summer is more like Fall. It sucks, so badly.. Fortunately, there are Summer collections, yay! Today I will be showing you the new essie Summer 2016 collection. It is inspired by Rebecca Minkoff's travels to Antigua. At first, the colours looked quite random to me, but after doing some nail art with them I saw that they actually go very well together. Very well². So without further ado, let's take a look at the pictures, shall we? Yes, we shall! <3
Coconut Cove - Coconut Cove is an off-white crème, it leans to a very very soft and light pink. I love this colour. I love it because it looks good on me and it makes me look tan. The formula is alright and the first coat is a bit streaky. I added 2 more layers to get it perfectly opaque. This is 3 coats.
Berried Treasures - Berried Treasures is a rich pink coral crème. I LOVE this colour. And the formula is divine, it applies very easily and it is extremely pigmented. This is 2 coats.
Hiking Heels - Hiking Heels is a hot orang-y red crème. You probably own a similar shade, right? Yeah, I thought so. However, the formula of Hiking Heels is so thin and pigmented, it is unbelievable. Gorgeous, gorgeous! This is 2 coats.
Viva Antigua! - Viva Antigua! is a turquoise green with specks and flecks. Again, a beauuuuutiful colour. The formula is great and very pigmented. Oh, and on the nails it looked more glitter-y than anticipated, hah. That is a positive thing, by the way ;-). This is 2 coats.
Loot the Booty - Loot the Booty is a rich blue with blue flecks (and sometimes purple!). Yep, gorgeous, good formula, pigmented. All I ever wanted from a nail polish. Be warned: it will stain your cuticles, and probaby your nails too. So make sure you are wearing a base coat! This is 2 coats.
Tribal text-styles - Tribal text-styles is a gunmetal grey with a shimmer. This is not my cup of tea. And the formula let me down. It goed on well, but once I got to the tip of my nail, it went all gloopy and sticky on me. Because it goes gloopy so fast, it is not that easy to work with. However, I must say that the formula is pretty pigmented. This is 2 coats.
In Belgium, essie is available at Di and Kruidvat and sells for €12,50.
